Known Incompatibility Issues

An issue with the L-trac during boot-up has been fixed. This issues had to do with the Operating System not connecting after the initial polling of the device. People who are affected by this will see the L-Trac in the device manager but will not have any function before unplugging and replugging the USB connection. All L-Tracs after June 1, 2010 will have updated firmware which fixes this issue.

On some systems the request for 1khz polling rate is ignored. Sometimes these systems would have drastically lower polling rates causing our count accumulator to overrun. The result was that, when the ball was rolled really fast, the cursor would start to move and then stop, wiggle back and forth and eventually move a little in the direction you rolled. All L-Tracs after June 1, 2010 will have updated firmware which fixes this issue.

Some L-Trac models purchased prior July 2009, may have an issue running on Windows 98 and 2000. The issue is regarding the operating system disabling of the buttons which allows the users to move the pointer but unable to click. This issue has been resolved in all new L-Trac purchased from July 1, 2009 and later.
