Redesigned Stainless Steel Rollers for all L-Trac Trackballs

What is a roller?

Rollers are the small metal parts that the ball sits on and makes contact with to allow the laser to track movement.

  • Two small contact points reduce the force necessary to roll the ball as there is less friction to impede movement. This results in much smother rolling and greatly reduces the amount of noise from ball and roller contact.

  • The Lighter weight allows for more control when moving the ball.

  • The new Concave design allows dirt and debris to clear easily from the rolling surface.

  • The Stainless Steel rollers are treated by a cryogenic metal treatment. This process rearranges the molecules in an organized fashion increasing toughness and increasing wear resistance.

All Previous L-Trac Models can also be Upgraded

* To see if your L-Trac already have the Redesigned Rollers simply check the label on the bottom of the trackball and if there is an “R2.1” next to the model number then you have an L-Trac with the Resigned Rollers already installed.

The Redesigned Rollers can now be purchased separately in individual kits from our Reseller TrackballWorld.com.

How to Replace L-Trac Rollers

Step 1:

  • Remove the three screws on the underside of the trackball with a Phillips Screw Driver. One screw is located under the Service Label.

Step 2:

  • Remove the ball and take off the top half of the trackball case then remove the three current rollers from their holders by simply pulling on them.

Step 3:

  • Next apply a small amount of grease to end of each roller and then slide on a brown bearing. Make sure the nose of the bearing is facing toward the contact points of the roller.

Step 4:

  • Once this is completed with all three rollers insert them into each holder. Note that the long part of the brown bearing goes downward in the holder and be sure to press down on each bearing to make sure they are completely seated.

Step 5:

  • Lastly place the ball on the new rollers and put the top half of the case back on the bottom half and re-screw the three screw back on. Make sure not to over tighten the screws.
